We are team baitbox

The story of Baitbox

We started Team Baitbox in 2010, mostly as a way for us to save and look back on our fishing adventures. The reason we started with YouTube was not because we wanted to become "YouTubers," but rather because we didn't have enough storage space on our hard drives, we couldn't afford to buy new ones, and YouTube offered free storage for videos.

Since then, a lot has happened; YouTube has evolved into one of the world's largest social platforms, we have gained a following and fantastic engagement from everyone who watches our videos. Today, we can proudly state that "Team Baitbox" is actually one of the largest Swedish fishing channels on YouTube right now!

Our vision has always been to try to capture the entire experience when we film. Not just the successful attempts and the beautiful fights with fish. Our focus has been on documenting and presenting our journeys just as we experienced them when we were out. Perhaps it is for this very reason that so many also appreciate and relate to our videos, because they are honest and genuine.

Is there anything better than being out with your best friends, doing what you love most, and sharing experiences in the amazing nature we have in Sweden? Not if you ask us!

Since 2012, we have also been manufacturing one of Sweden's most popular spoons, our very own Baitboxbomben. Simon Ekdahl is the man behind Baitboxbomben, whose idea grew from always modifying his own lures in one way or another, and eventually decided to create a new lure model, just the way we wanted it. Since then, Baitboxbomben has caught countless large fish, it has been featured in magazines in both Sweden and Norway, and the annual collections sell out in seconds.

In addition to videos and lure manufacturing, we are constantly developing the business and selling our products through our webshop. We have created caps, t-shirts, mugs, beanies, tackle boxes, sauna tents through our own brand Hott Sauna, and a whole lot more. We are continually working on this front and will continue to develop products in-house to expand the webshop, grow in the market, and offer our customers really good products for sport fishing and outdoor activities!

Simon Ekdahl

Simon is often the man behind the camera when Team Baitbox is out on a fishing trip.

He is responsible for much of the filming and editing work that has been done on many of the videos we have released on our YouTube channel over the years. In addition to a strong media interest, he also has a passionate commitment to product development.

Simon is educated as a Master of Science in Engineering in interaction design and works daily with digital product development and UX design. Simply put, Simon works with user-centered design. This has also led him to take on the role of lead designer at Baitbox and he is behind the appearance of many of our own products and our website.

Jens Sankala

In his daily life, Jens works in building construction, but at Baitbox, he is among other things a media producer, which means he films and edits. Jens also manages contact with many of our clients and partners and actively works on business development.

Jens is also a skilled writer and storyteller. He actively works on planning film productions and trips and ensures that plans are realized and executed in the best possible way.

Andreas Jonsson

Andreas, or yes, the uncle, the doctor, Jonssa, Jone… Who the hell is Jone? A beloved child has many names, they say, and we wonder if he is the dearest.

With a presence and charisma rarely seen, it is hard not to like Andreas. Over the years, he has become a strong character in Team Baitbox that many appreciate and follow with great enthusiasm through many of our films.
